So I know I have been a huge slacker with regard to this blog. I will post pictures very soon, I promise.
I just had to share this story. I was driving home with the boys after picking up Jayden from preschool. I always try to get any information out of him about his day as soon as I can, but he always tells me "not until lunch, mom." That is our thing...we take turns telling eachother what we did when we were apart. Anyway, last week Jayden says to me, in an excited but matter-of-fact tone, "Mom! Do you know that if we know Jesus, then we can go to heaven? But if we don't know Jesus, we can't go to heaven." I teared up instantly. Then he proceeds to tell me "Mom, when I go to heaven, can I get a cloud?" I said "Well, I am not sure if we get clouds in heaven. That would be pretty cool, though, huh?" He replied, "I want one so that I can bring it back to you." So the tears almost fell at that point. I said to him "Well, if you go to heaven Jayden, you won't come back here. You will get stay there forever!" In a sad voice he said "Then I don't want to go to heaven." Of course, the unfathomable amazingness (word???lol) of heaven is a concept that is hard for a 4 year old to understand.
I am always in awe of that boy for many reasons. Whether he actually understands the magnitude and meaning of what he said about knowing Jesus is a concern of mine, for sure, but how children can simplify what so many people make so incredibly complicated is what I am in awe of right now. Children and their hearts and minds are just beautiful. And simple. And honest. Wouldn't it be nice?

That made me have tears. I love hearing his excitement as well as his desire to share his life, experiences and even heaven with his mom. You are an amazing mother and I admire you sweet friend.
